
ZPS-FN, a. s., a traditional producer and supplier of milling machines and hone drills from high-speed steel with an extensive network of trade partners in the Czech republic and many other European countries decided to upgrade its information system NAVISION 3.56 to business solution Microsoft Business Solutions – Navision 3.60.
The goals of the project were the following tasks:
- improved services and easier communication with customers
- more transparent costs and monitoring of own production
- more effective performance of employees, in particular marketing and trade department
- technological goals as e.g. replacement of technological obsolete solution (from both program and hardware point of view) or remote access to data
The project was started in September 2002. The first phase included a detailed analysis. The analysis showed that in order to meet the goals, it is necessary to implement three areas of application – financial management, warehouse management, purchase and sale management and CRM and to make several minor modifications in the application Microsoft Business Solutions – Navision. At the same time all historical data had to be kept and transferred into the new system. The following steps in the implementation phase led to system implementation, modifications of the system, training of users and finally launching a trial run of the new system. The application was completely tuned up during January and February 2003. The system was ready for a live launch in March.
Currently we provide ZPS-FN “only“ consultation service and we are confident to say that all goals set at the beginning of the implementation of the Microsoft Business Solution - Navision were met including maintenance of all historical data from the old system.
