
Servisní pojišťovna a.s. is an insurance company offering exclusively motor hull insurance. It belongs to a group of smaller insurance companies on the Czech insurance market. Currently, the company employees 16 full-time employees based in Zlin and Prague. The company has also a network of over 40 contractual partners. The company also cooperates with number of companies including (GE Capital Leasing, ČSOB Leasing, etc.), brokerage companies, show rooms and second hand car dealers. The company has been reporting a strong growth in the number of signed insurance contracts and therefore in turnover and the size of the company.
Prior to installation of the new version of IS Microsoft Business Solutions – Navision 3.60 the company has been using IS NAVISION 3.56, which was getting ineffective in terms of handling, capacity and quality of provided data and analytical tools. Another significant deficiency was a limited access of partners to clients’ data and information about completed insurance contracts. Navision 3.56 was becoming unsatisfactory and therefore the company has decided to shift to a new information system.
The company has issued a tender for the new information system, which would meet all requirements set by the insurance company. The main requirement was a detailed solution for work with the insurance contract and a possibility to complete and monitor insurance contracts using an Internet solution. The company selected AXIOM PROVIS Int., Ltd., with its IS Microsoft Business Solutions – Navision 3.60 in spring 2003.
Our company had an experience with Servisní pojišťovna a.s. from the past and is aware of all requirements in the insurance business. The first task was to create a detailed analysis of flows in the company. After detailed study of company’s requirements, a new module insurance was developed. The module provides the following:
- creation of insurance contract card – data about the car, client and insurance conditions
- monitoring of clients, insurance contracts, personal data, client’s balances, etc.
- creation of card of insurance event – data about the insurance event and its progress
- Automatic accounting of the premium to relevant accounts
- Automatic print of all needed documents and sets
- register of needed documents to individual contracts, events and clients
- register of partners, their commissions, contracts and payment morale
- Analytical tools – defined by the insurance company, subject to its needs
- Internet interface – option to access the database using the Internet. (ASW Portal)
Implementation of the IS was realised in an extremely short time thanks to previous experience of work with an insurance company and a team of professionals with knowledge of the insurance business. The contract to implement the system was signed in April 2003. Analysis of customer’s needs together with designed solution was completed within 4 weeks. Programming modifications according to customer’s needs were completed with another 2.5 months. Another phase included consultations in AXIOM PROVIS Int., Ltd., where individual functions and simulation of real events were tested. Training of users and introduction of the new system Microsoft Business Solutions - Navision 3.60 was completed in August 2003.First launch of a trial database was done in September 2003, when the staff tested the system on their computers and with their data. A detailed training of individual employees and consultations were running alongside. After additional requirements were incorporated, we have launched a trial run with all our staff present and overlooking staff of the insurance company. Where necessary, relevant advice was provided.
The live version of the new IS Microsoft Business Solutions – Navision 3.60 in the company Servisní pojišťovna a.s. was launched on 1.11.2003.
