
KRKA is a well known and recognized innovative generic company in more than 70 countries worldwide. Its products are sold in more than 70 countries around the world. The position of the company in the international field is strengthened by companies and representative offices from abroad. It owns production capacities and the distribution centres are in Poland, Russia and Croatia.
Situation
KRKA is a well known and recognized innovative generic company in more than 70 countries worldwide. Nowadays KRKA belongs to the leading pharmaceutical companies in central and eastern Europe. Business operations of the company KRKA are focused on pharmaceutical and chemical activities which beside the production and sale of pharmaceuticals for human use include also production and sale of veterinary products, self-medication medicine and cosmetics.
Business aims
It must be central and integrated. Besides basic functional requirements that are given by crucial business processes:

Further on it meets the needs to secure strategies of dynamic development of the company. The requirements are these:

Primary aim of new Microsoft Dynamics NAV business solution implementation is the consolidation of information support of processes to one central ERP system and making the support of fairly new spheres of business in Europe possible.
Solution
The implementation of KRKA was considered by AXIOM SW as the implementation of business solution for support of all accountant processes. The IS Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementation includes two subsidiaries of KRKA holding in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV users in the company KRKA use the following modules of system while doing their operational working processes:
- Finances management
- Purchase
- Sale and claims
- Human resources
- Administration
IS Microsoft Dynamics NAV implementation in the company KRKA was carried on by applying the standard Czech version of IS in combination with SQL database. Functionality of the system was completed, by request of the customer, by modules of the company
AXIOM SW. These are for example:
- Account coding
- Automatic updating of exchange rates form central bank server
- Automatic banks (import and export of bank statements – interface Multicash in 3.0)
- Advance payments
- Cash desk
Hardware and technical infrastructure of the solution is implemented and centrally administrated by the controlling company KRKA in Slovenia. Users enter the system far by using terminal services of Citrix application.
Other improvements were implemented to the system in cooperation with the Slovenian partner, the company ASACTA d.o.o. These serve for data evaluation and consolidation in terms of supranational holding of the company KRKA.
Phases of the project:
First phase “Analysis of financial processes” - in this part definition of finance sphere took place. All processes that are connected with influence to financial part of application were described in this part.
Second phase “Detailed analysis and solution specification” – after the end and acceptance of the first phase the fundamental part of the project took place. It was the second phase. In this phase a detailed analysis and suggestion of new rising solution took place.
Third phase “Development, documentation and migration of testing data” – after the acceptance of the second phase the development of defined application started. In the same time partial testing, migration of data and preparation of documentation took place.
Fourth phase ”Pilot project” – pilot project was launched in January 2008. The main aim is to check the application in operation.
